A whole new offering.
Over the last 4 months I've been out of the office, one of the main things I’ve been working with is my relationship to my medical practice. I’ve been an acupuncturist and healer for the last 12 years, and over time my skill sets and what I have to offer has grown and changed. I have undergone rigorous trainings that have deepened and stretched my capacity to hold people through intensive healing transformations, and recently I’ve been in development of a new way I will be working with people on their health and wellbeing that matches the medicine that's currently running through my system.
I’ve named this new method Yin Medicine.
What is Yin Medicine and Why Choose Yin Medicine over Traditional Acupuncture Treatment?
Yin Medicine won’t be for everyone.
Yin Medicine is for you who are sick to death of looping inside patterns of illness. You who are curious about where in your body those patterns were truly born and taken root. You who are willing to let your ego’s identities die death after exquisite death in service to your healing and wholeness. You who are ready to release the mental grip of fear inside of stories of physical pain and disease, and let yourself feel the truth of movement within your body, even when it aches.
Ready. Willing. Able.
Able because of a commitment to self responsibility.
Able because of a growing capacity to hear and feel truth.
Able because of a living and tended-to relationship with trust.
Able because of a willingness to be evermore viscerally present with the intensity of pain and terror that comes inherently with living inside a human-animal body - without running from it.
When one becomes able, the energy just moves.
It just happens. That’s its nature.
Of course these things can take time, there are factors at play.
When I look at the body, I use a 4 layer model. In order from most dense to most subtle, I see the physical body, the emotional body, the etheric/energetic body, and the mental body. Each layer of the body contributes to and affects the health of all the other layers, and change in the subtle layers typically happens faster than change in the more dense layers.
With traditional acupuncture, you want to go often, usually a minimum of 1-2x per week for a period of time, to repair and correct a pattern of energy that runs at the level of the energetic body and shows symptoms at the level of the physical layer of the body.
For acute pains and even more chronic symptoms and conditions that are closer to the surface, regular acupuncture is extremely effective as a stand alone medicine. But for symptoms that come from energetic patterns rooted in deeply held beliefs - beliefs being thoughts (mental body layer) that have been practiced so many times they become written into the patterning of all 4 layers of the body - or rooted in old pain or traumas (usually a combo of emotional and mental body layers) that have never been lovingly touched into or witnessed, traditional acupuncture will only make temporary shifts. The patterns and symptoms that accompany them will eventually come back in the absence of treatment.
Most people don’t want to be “in treatment” indefinitely, so what can we do to ensure real, lasting transformation?
This is what I have spent the last decade delving into, studying and synthesizing a system of medicine that brings together many different lenses and techniques and delivers a person into the next level of vitality and a more whole, integrated state of being.
This is no quick fix, and it requires a deep level of commitment and self responsibility. What has been present and developing for sometimes decades can take months if not years to resolve.
This is physical work, but it is also soul work. You are not handing yourself over to me to “repair” you. Instead, you’re devoting yourself to a process of willing self inquiry, softening into openness, and expanding your capacity to hold your emotions and stay present with the sensations of your body.
The acupuncture and coaching I offer, along with herbal medicine, and adjustment to your diet, movement, and sleep hygiene, are there to guide all 4 layers of your body into alignment and provide a structured container for your body and mind to relax into during this process.
The core of my methodology focuses on revealing the covert patterns of emotion, thought, and behavior running underneath the physical symptoms and issues that arise in your body.
I have a particular mastery of sight for these patterns and for using acupuncture to assist in unearthing the hidden emotions trapped by them. When these deeper emotions release, the patterns of energy holding your physical symptoms in place can begin to dissolve as well.
It is important to mention that creating an environment of openness in the body for that release to occur may take time - it depends on how tightly controlled your individual energetic system has been - but softening and opening is possible, and it’s essential for true healing to take place.
Your body will generate symptoms in response to many things - your environment, your emotions and thought patterns, the inputs of your food, sleep, and movement, and your constitutional or genetic makeup. Some of these elements are within your control, and some of them are more challenging and even impossible to control.
For some of you, letting go of trying to control the elements beyond your human ability actually creates the most dramatic changes in your system - even on the dense physical level of the body - but for others, the greatest shifts happen when you finally see and feel how much agency you do have over your body and your life when you take real, loving ownership of the true reality you’ve been living in.
Most likely, there will be some combination of both happening within the scope of your treatment process. And in either case, seeing and accepting the patterns of behavior you’ve been running is the first crucial step to signalling to your body that it’s safe to move and function in a new way.
In this process, you will be required to drop your masks - some you won’t even know (at first) you’ve been wearing because they were put on so long ago that they’ve been disguised as your personality and parts of your identity. When the masks begin to come down and you have a deeper appreciation for and acceptance of the truth of what’s been underneath all along..
THAT is when your body will begin to respond differently at the deepest root level. THAT is when your symptoms can really shift for the long term.
So what’s the plan? How do we get there?
True Commitment. Love of the body.
First, you must desire to spend a focused period of time committed to full spectrum healing and seeing it all the way through to a higher plane of health. Coming in for treatment a few times and becoming discouraged when you haven’t been made to “feel better” right away isn’t it.
Second, the Yin Medicine program:
You are entering an all-inclusive 6 week container where you will be held through a multilayered process of deepening into your body and releasing internal patterns that contribute to unwanted physical symptoms. You will receive my unique style of acupuncture and energy work twice a week for 6 weeks.
Your first visit is 1.5 hours long and includes a deep dive into your health and life history, the inner workings of relevant relationships (family, partner, children, work-life, friendships, etc.), and how you see and feel about yourself. What’s revealed will become your personal curriculum for self study during the course of treatment, and I guide you into locations of inquiry that open your ability to see and feel yourself and your patterns in new ways. You receive your first acupuncture/energy work treatment during this visit.
One visit each week will include a 30 minute coaching session where we will check in with what’s been surfacing in response to the shifting landscape of your life and body between sessions, and we will continue to work with the patterns we illuminate. I will offer individualized journaling prompts between coaching sessions for you to digest your experience and see your thoughts and feelings in a structured way on paper - this is very important, as it prevents hidden parts of you from staying in the shadows. Visits will include ongoing and personalized adjustments as needed to your dietary, sleep hygiene, and movement routines.
Herbal medicine is prescribed and offered to support your body’s healing during week 2.
You are offered emotional and energetic support between sessions via text messaging.
At the completion of your 6 weeks, we will close the container. If you would like ongoing care and guidance, you will have the option of moving into either a 3-month or 1-year Yin Medicine container. These longer containers share the same foundational principles, techniques, and structure, but move at a pace and price point appropriate for longer term care. I will see you 3 times monthly: bi weekly acupuncture plus one separate 30 minute transformational coaching session each month.
I am also offering a single session option, which is available to each client twice. Single sessions are 1.5 hours and follow the structure of the first visit within the initial 6-week Yin Medicine container.
To begin, please set up a free intro call with me where we discover if we’re a good fit to work together on your wellness. Calls will be held over zoom and run for 15-20 minutes.

About me:
My name is Liana. Whether you need a remedy for acute pain, a chronic illness or imbalance, or emotional/mental distress, I am here to provide a focused and individualized treatment plan, as well as a space where you can drop more fully into your body.
I've been living in Prescott since the end of 2021. Originally I’m from Philadelphia, PA, but I've grown away from city-life -- being closer to nature is what I need for my body and mind. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to provide quality care to our community here, it’s what I love to do.
Although I do have a strong background in physical medicine and western biological sciences, I have always tended towards a holistic and integrated approach to the body and the psyche.
I graduated with my Masters Degree in Oriental Medicine in 2015 from a 4 year Integrative Medicine college in California, where acupuncturists are primary care providers. Through this program I studied abroad at a medical college in Shikoku, Japan, as well as completed a landmark internship at the Benioff Children’s Hospital in San Francisco. Outside of my school’s curriculum, I studied as an apprentice for 2 years under an expert of a style of acupuncture called Japanese Meridian Therapy. In 2018 I completed a 4 part certification process in Esoteric Acupuncture, as taught by Dr. Mikio Sankey.
From 2018 to 2021 I apprenticed with an indigenously trained and initiated healer, learning principles and techniques of energetic and sound healing. In 2021 I became certified in a trauma healing method which utilizes a unique combination of gestalt emotional processing, creative reimagining, and parts work to bring relief and closure to unresolved painful experiences from the past.
Most recently, I am coming upon completion of a 2 year mentorship program with a true master of pattern work and spiritual surrender. In the fall of 2025 I will return to my roots and begin a clinical doctorate in Acupuncture.
In addition to acupuncture (Classical Chinese, TCM, Japanese, & Esoteric), I also provide therapeutic cupping, moxibustion, gua sha, nutritional and lifestyle counseling, and Medical Qi Gong when necessary. I am a certified Chinese Medicine herbalist and prescribe individualized herbal compounding as well as pre-prepared formulas.
Please feel free to get in contact with any questions you have about your ailments or the treatment process.
