Acupuncture

Acupuncture is an ancient healing art that has been safely practiced for thousands of years all over the world, and originated in the east.

Modern, peer-reviewed clinical research has shown it to be effective in treating a wide variety of issues including chronic back pain, neuropathy, migraines, and more.  Read on to find out if acupuncture works for your condition...

Chinese Medicine, including acupuncture and herbal therapies (among others), is one of the oldest and most time-tested paradigms of healthcare in human history. Like western Biomedicine, it is a whole medical system, meaning it has the depth and breadth of scope to treat illness at any level and in any region of the body. It was THE medical system that kept the whole of dynastic China thriving for over 2000 years.

The 4 year training that licensed acupuncturists receive in order to practice this safe and effective medicine also includes a thorough study of western medicine. This ensures that acupuncturists will be able to work successfully with MDs, Physical Therapists, Psychologists, and other medical providers to give you the best and most complete care possible. Our acupuncturists use single-use, sterile needles and have direct clinical experience with over ten thousand cases. We bring that experience and expertise to every session.

The use of acupuncture has been shown to effectively treat many types of conditions. In 2002, the World Health Organization (WHO) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) released a report called “Acupuncture: Review and Analysis of Reports on Controlled Clinical Trials.” Below you will see a list of the conditions mentioned in that report.

Please note that there are plenty of additional conditions which centuries of empirical data have shown acupuncture treats effectively, but for which there is little or no modern western research.
